Close the universities

The University of Sussex has today (27 February) launched the UK’s first ever undergraduate level climate justice degree in the social sciences.

The BA in Climate Justice, Sustainability and Development, which will begin in 2026, will equip students with a unique blend of expertise in climate politics, activism, and environmental human rights. This will be combined with the practical green skills – the know-how and abilities needed to work in ways that help protect the environment – needed to drive real-world change.

A degree in how to join Greenpeace now…..

Noooooo… Let them… By all means… Let them!!

It concentrates the idiots, and in the end gives them a degree that’s completely useless and tags them for the idiot grifters they are by the time they graduate.

Because by then the goalposts will have changed, and not in their benefit…

Excellent suggestion. It’s like a grease trap for people you’d never want to hire.

Imagine the aroma those undergrads will leave in the lecture hall.

Sounds good to have all the activists in one place so we know which part of the grid to shut off during the big dunkelflaute.
But I wonder if they will graduate in entitlement, and gain positions on the climate change committee. The UK really has to repeal that climate act by 2029 or they will do us harm.

Indeed, these will be the off-spring of the already entitled classes who are ensconced at the highest levels of NGSs, government and human rights law firms, so we can expect too see an increase in those jobs to meet demand. See also DEI.

Run degree courses in whatever you want, but lets face it, no one is going to pay the loans back. Stop funding it with government money 🙁

@jgh

What’s not to like? Their earning potential is zero so their student loan repayments will be zero and that £50k debt will never be repaid.

Yup, need to make universities liable for the write-offs for their students.

My about-to-graduate-as-a-doctor will have to pay her fucking loan back.

And as for all of these ‘useless, mickey-mouse degrees’? Where do you think the vast professional DIE intake came from? The public sector is expanding by the employment of these cunts. These “degrees” are the intake to a lifetime of almighty grift.

The first time in my life that I felt a hint of academic snobbery coming on was when I read up on the Global Warming cult: it must have been in the early nineties I think.

I concluded “These are duds: with dud degrees in dud subjects from dud universities”.

I think the assessment was fair: the outrageous crooks and liars hadn’t yet taken over the field – the pioneers were largely dim rather than universally criminal.
