On Apple’s revenues

Clearly, Apple doesn’t need saving (it has just revealed quarterly revenues equivalent to the annual GDP of Luxembourg).

Err, no.

Corporate revenue does not equate to GDP. The latter is value added: in a corporation this would be akin to profits plus wages paid.

And no, Apple, didn’t report those for the quarter equivalent to the GDP of Luxembourg.

But you can’t knock the usefulness of these calculations.

The NHS costs the entire GDP of …….

The wages for government bureaucrats are equivalent to the GDP of …….

More should be done.
