Guess what?

MacArthur today introduced a program on Native self-determination as a step forward in our ongoing commitment to the strength and well-being of Native communities. Guided by the voices and leadership of Indigenous Peoples, this program will increase resources and deepen relationships in ways that reflect mutual respect and long-term partnership, while building on the Foundation’s past support for Indigenous communities.

This will not include funding for Anglo Saxon communities in England.

Ho Hum.

They have most probably looked at the money available around Indigenous issues in Canada and other places and thought how can we get a piece of that pie here, the philanthropy piece being just the next virtue signalling accessory

Nor the Celtic communities in Scotland, particularly the Pictish that lived there before the “Scots” invaded from Ireland.
The Welsh regard the Anglo-Saxons as late-coming invaders, following the Romans
One might mention the scientific research showing that Leif Ericsson’s friends met and intermarried with “indigenous” peoples who had migrated into North America before the “First Nations”

There is now good evidence that humans lived in the Americas before the “Clovis” period that was previously assumed to be the earliest period of human occupation.

As I understand it, there is no evidence that the Red Indians are descended from those earliest humans in the Americas. So they may very well not be indigenous but just another bunch of land-grabbing invaders.

Maoris? Easter Islanders? Chagosians? Turks?

The first humans to inhabit the Black Hills of Dakota arrived from Asia some 10,000 years ago.

They were “replaced” by a second wave called the Clovis.

A third wave of Asians, laughably called by some “Native Americans” then arrived and wiped out the Clovis.

Around a millennia ago the Arikara had taken possession of the land.

That didn’t last long as they were defeated by the Crow.

Who then lost it to the Pawnee.

Who in turn lost it to the Kiowa.

Who got stuffed by the Cheyenne.

Then around 1776 the Lakota Sioux stole the Black Hills from the Cheyenne and immediately declared it to be their sacred ancestral land.

Finally a bunch of melanin-deficient immigrants showed up and sent the Lakota packing.

Look, we all know that the rights of indigenous peoples trump those of ‘newcomers’ and are to be protected. Except for the white English in England, where the exact opposite is true.

Well yeah. I’ve always thought that only the Tasmanians in Oz should be regarded as ‘First People’, and all the rest of the Abos should be deemed wicked invaders like the rest of us.

Though if I ran things, we British descended ‘Second People’ would be the only real Aussies, and all the rest would just be also-rans.

‘Finally a bunch of melanin-deficient ASYLUM SEEKERS showed up and sent the Lakota packing.’

There you are John. Fixed that one for you.

‘In the process of deciding to develop a program, MacArthur’s Staff and Board spent over two years listening to and learning from Native leaders.’

Lie. They would have all committed suicide.
