If anyone is regularly meeting new people it makes sense to keep an aide-memoire – no one would mention it if he kept a similar brief record of business contacts; why should dating be so different? The descriptions are actually very polite. His only real mistake was to trust the woman he showed it to. She should be embarrassed at her behaviour.
