Jeebus, but this is harsh

A teenage rape victim was allegedly sexually assaulted a second time while in hospital receiving treatment for the original attack in India’s east, police said on Monday, in the latest case of violence against women.
The 15-year-old girl has told police that she was raped on Sunday by a security guard at the hospital where she had been admitted in Jamshedpur city in the impoverished state of Jharkhand.
“We registered a case and arrested the private security guard posted at the hospital after the girl’s complaint and are now awaiting her medical report,” police superintendent Chandan Jha told AFP.

Worthy of a specifically harsh punishment on the (alleged) perpetrator methinks.

Which puts me heavily out of step with current approved thinking of course, for rape is simply rape, there is no “rape, rape” and not “rape, rape”, there is simply “rape”.

Which does not, I’m afraid, quite accord with how I see the world. If a security guard goes pilfering I would expect them to get a heavier punishment than someone who broke in, teenage youth or career crim. So too here.

And whatever the various campaigners say pretty sure that most would agree.

  1. Poor girl.

    Assuming the 2nd rape kit proves the allegation then the guard deserves everything he gets. Rape is bad enough without it coming at the hands of the one who you believe is there to protect you.

  2. It does seem especially despicable, but that is why we have the idea of judges choosing a sentence. The crime is still the same crime, but the sentence can be adjusted per case. Theft is theft is theft, but stealing an old lady’s pension is probably going to be sentenced more harshly than shoplifting a sandwich. Kind of thing.

    Current thinking on rape driven by feminist dogma ultimately undermines this because they insist that the sandwich is just as bad as the pension theft, and even just touching the sandwich is as bad, or watching someone steal a sandwich on the internet or…

  3. Oh, but reading it again. No I don’t really see that the security guard is worse than a “teenage crim” who broke in. Or to turn it around, that it’s somehow less bad for the teenage crim than the guard.

    To paraphrase Gandhi, what do I think of Indian civilisation?

    There is probably a reason why it is fine for him to say it and not me.

  5. That’s why we have mitigating and aggravating factors taken into account when sentencing. Rape, x years. Rape with the aggravating factor of a position of trust, x+y years. Same thing for theft. Doesn’t make it a different crime, just a different degree of the same crime.

    “There is probably a reason why it is fine for him to say it and not me.”

    Because
    1. He never said it.
    2. You’re you.

    Ironman – “Because 1. He never said it. 2. You’re you.”

    1. There is no evidence he said it but he said a lot of things. Not all of them were recorded it. So he is merely unlikely to have said it. And 2. You are, for once, right. I have never written letters to Gandhi’s dear friend Adolf Hitler.

  8. No you haven’t have you. He cruelly denied you that opportunity by shooting himself 71 years ago.

    You have, however, written that Israel honouring those who protected Jews back then is simply a cynical marketing exercise. So perhaps you should put the smelling salts down and stop play acting you Thick.Racist.Prick

  9. I think the femmi rape thing is hugely overcriticised. It seems largely to do with the highly ungentlemanly attitude of many men to sex.

    Whatever the primal lusts we all have lurking in the brainstem, you simply don’t fuck a woman unless you are absolutely sure she wants it. There are tried and tested methods of getting to that point and retreating gracefully, both parties with face and honour intact, in the event of a rejection of escaliation at any point along the way. Every civilised gent out on the pull should be aware of these. Sadly civilised gents are an increasingly rare commodity.

    If you are in any doubt, you should assume there is potential trouble. If you are not in any doubt, you have a lot of (including graphic) detail to say in your defence should a false accusation arise.

    I am sure we would have had lots to discuss.

    “You have, however, written that Israel honouring those who protected Jews back then is simply a cynical marketing exercise.”

    Indeed it is. An event that has nothing to do with Israel and especially nothing to do with the government in power. Which at the time was also fighting the British, was inspired by Fascism and which tried to ally itself with Hitler.

    Cynical marketing it what it is.

    None of which changes the fact that this is barbaric. As was Gandhi’s odd little habit of sleeping naked with very young girls including his granddaughter. I expect that the attitudes that allowed that, also encourage the guard’s behaviour. Indian civilisation, hey?

    So we have more of the Cultural Enrichment Rusty and of course Frances Coppola wish upon us. Well, the Germans do:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3428526/Fury-German-town-mayor-tells-families-children-away-migrants-avoid-provoking-wear-fewer-clothes-summer.html

    ‘She’s under 10 and it also happened in a nearby town. The girls have been harassed by the refugee children… The asylum seekers, and they get harassed from the windows [of the shelter] and things like that.

    ‘How will this be in the summer when the school girls wear less clothing?’

    Attempting to bat away the question quickly and easily, the major responded: ‘That’s easy, just don’t provoke them and don’t walk in these areas.’

    But of course this harassment of ten year olds has nothing to do with Islam, and we are always to blame for everything. Because in Rusty’s world, the West is evil and those poor oppressed Third World people are angels we should invite into our homes.

  12. “Whatever the primal lusts we all have lurking in the brainstem, you simply don’t fuck a woman unless you are absolutely sure she wants it.”

    What if she says and acts like she wants it and then changes her mind–the next day or any period of time later -limited only by your death or hers?

    Not going to happen you say? Are there no female loonies? Are there no gold-diggers and or female psychopaths happy to ruin your life for cash? Are there no attention-seeking female nutters around? Open your eyes.

    “There are tried and tested methods of getting to that point and retreating gracefully, both parties with face and honour intact, in the event of a rejection of escaliation at any point along the way. Every civilised gent out on the pull should be aware of these.”

    You put the blame entirely on men without taking any account of the incentives now handed out to encourage female liars.

    “If you are not in any doubt, you have a lot of (including graphic) detail to say in your defence should a false accusation arise.”

    What you say will be of zero interest to the court unless you have witness or audio/vis evidence to back it up. Your word that you had her consent not only means nothing but will be used to show what a vicious unfeeling sociopath you really are. It is to be hoped that you are never accused BiG because your naïve attitude would end with your head being handed to you in the court.

    Bloke in Germany – “Whatever the primal lusts we all have lurking in the brainstem, you simply don’t fuck a woman unless you are absolutely sure she wants it.”

    I am sorry but on what planet is that a helpful contribution to this discussion? The world is not overrun with rapists who are thinking the women they are raping are being raped. The world has a problem with men who think that the women they are raping want to have sex with them.

    “Sadly civilised gents are an increasingly rare commodity.”

    Ya think? The Left wages an unrelenting war on middle class values and gentlemen for the past one hundred years and guess what? Middle class values and gentlemen are in decline. Who would have guessed? Not to mention, of course, excuse-mongering for people like Eldridge Cleaver who saw the rape of White women as a powerful political action – inspiring Susan Brownmiller to actually, in a very politically incorrect way, single out minority men as part of her criticism of rape as a matter of power. Also, that old favourite, importing millions of would-be rapists into the West because, well, people on the Left hate Whites.

    There is, to all intents and purposes, no rape problem in the White communities of the developed world. What rape problem they have is a problem with minority men and new immigrants. The Americans dance carefully around the fact that while the media focuses on innocent White Frats, in fact the vast majority of accused rapists on campuses across America are Black or other minority. So your comment is utterly beside the point. It does not address the problem, nor does it address the rapists among us. Unless you can phrase something that sounds convincing in Urdu and Arabic it is irrelevant. In those cultures rape is lauded and central to how they see sex.

  14. There is, to all intents and purposes, no rape problem in the White communities of the developed world.

    As usual when SMFS includes a testable proposition in his stream of racist bile, this is false. Figure 4.9 here (page 43) shows that a large majority of convicted rapists in England and Wales are white.

  15. So Much For Subtlety

    As usual SJW has got on his high horse before thinking about what I said. I did not say that there was no rape in the White community. The truth is, as that link shows, rape is uncommon in the UK. It is not like Papua New Guinea where half of all men admit to raping women. The figure that link shows is something like 0.5% of women are raped every year. Half of those by a partner. Too high but less than those violently assaulted without sexual intent. About four times less.

    Also, of course, as we all would have guessed, BMEs are over-represented. Among those charged:

    78.0 per cent were White;
    9.9 per cent were Black;
    9.7 per cent were Asian;
    The remaining 2.4 per cent were of ‘other’ ethnicity.

    Of those convicted;

    80.9 per cent were White;
    7.6 per cent were Black;
    8.7 per cent were Asian;
    The remaining 2.8 per cent were of ‘other’ ethnicity.

  16. There is, to all intents and purposes, no rape problem in the White communities of the developed world. What rape problem they have is a problem with minority men and new immigrants.

    I did not say that there was no rape in the White community.

    Those two statements taken together make sense only if you think that being raped by a white man is not a problem. Can you confirm that you’ve been raped by a white man and found it to be no more than a trifling inconvenience?
